Borrowing from/modifying the classic adage about the benefit of "Working smarter, Not harder", on September 22nd Mike Grey Wrestling Camps will be affording any interested student-athlete the privilege to do both in front of a panel of top in-state/Out-of-state collegiate coaches in the hopes of facilitating relationships that kick open doors/opportunities at the next level!
The Annual College Combine, hosted at the Friedman Wrestling Center on the campus of Cornell University presents a unique and convenient forum in which a wrestler of any age and/or skill set will be able to garner exposure from/become acquainted with just about every NYS based program of higher learning!!
Reared in a "Goldilocks" model/philosophy of finding "ideal fit across all categories", the approximately 7.5 hour day (10am-5:30pm) will be concentrated as much on the educational aspects of finding the right school; as it will serve to be a matchmaker for wrestling coaches attempting to "stock the cupboard" with fresh top talent!
The list of NCAA DI, DII, DIII institutions (both Men's & Women's) who have already committed to sending representation increasing daily, just a sampling of the mentors that will be available to answer any questions and/or speak to the comprehensive culture offered by their respective colleges/universities include the likes of: Mike Grey (Cornell), Kyle Borshoff (Binghamton), Troy Seymour (Brockport), Tom Prairie (Cortland), John Franchi/Cody Griswold (Elmira Men & Women), Marty Nichols (Ithaca), Mike Howard (Oswego), Jason Bovenzi (RIT), Ryne Morrison (St. John Fisher), Connor Lapresi (Utica Women), as well as NCAA Champs/Senior World medalists---Yianni Diakomihalis & Vito Arujau, who will speak on behalf of the Spartan Agoge System!
Attracting 100 participants spanning 10 different states in 2023, the event will have the added benefit of serving as an elite training camp to those who might still be too early in the college process; or who are simply seeking avenues to fine tune their repertoire in advance of the upcoming Super 32, not to mention the 2024-2025 scholastic season!!
The cost of attendance will be $200 per individual!!!
