This will be part of the series for the prestigious NYS TRIPLE CROWN AWARD

Team New York
This tournament is used as a guideline to fill the Schoolboy Duals team – Team New York. This team competes in Freestyle and Greco Roman at the National Duals held in Indianapolis Indiana and starts on June 6th, 2012.

IMPORTANT: Wrestlers, Parents and Coaches check with your school pertaining to exams, so you will know in advance if you can make the trip.
Cost: $TBA. We will be signing up wrestlers as they qualify.
Wrestlers Must: fill out paper work, supply copy of USA cd & birth certificate, and give deposit.
Guests Must: fill out paper work and give deposit.
Making Team: 1st in FS or GR guaranteed spot.

ENTRY:  The entry fee is $35 for one style and $40 for both, which must be paid together at the time of registration.  If a wrestler signs up for both styles but fails to compete in the first, he/she will be required to pay the additional fee and weigh-in again before being allowed to compete in the second style.

ELIGIBILITY:  This event is open to all NY resident wrestlers that meet the age requirements for Age Groups in the tournament.  All wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling membership card to participate.  Cards are obtained on-line at themat.com.  Please contact your Sectional Representative if you need directions on how to obtain a card.

WEIGH-INS:  All weigh-ins shall take place at the event venue.  Please see Schedule for Registration and Weigh-in times.  Athletes competing in both styles may weigh in once for both styles.  This is contingent on the athlete actively competing in the first style scheduled to be wrestled.  Should the athlete not compete in the first style after weighing in, he/she shall be required to weigh in again for the second style, with no weight allowance.

RULES:  The current rules of FILA with USA Wrestling modifications will govern this event.

UNIFORMS:  Red and Blue singlets or red/blue reversible singlet with under briefs ARE REQUIRED.  Headgear will be MANDATORY for all competitors.

AWARDS:  Top four (4) in each weight class will receive awards.

PAIRINGS:  Round Robin / Double Elimination brackets will be used for this event.  Wrestlers from the same section will be separated and also from the same club if possible.  Weights with only two (2) wrestlers shall wrestle best two (2) of three (3).

MEDICAL INFORMATION:  All athletes must be present in a competition singlet and submit to a skin check prior to weighing in.  The Head Trainer has full authority in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete.

Freestyle will start when Greco is finished and continue until it is done if the number of participants allows.
