FOR 2007 WORLD TEAM TRIALS IN LAS VEGAS – Tickets are now
available for the 2007 U.S. World Team Trials in
Las Vegas,
Nev., June 9-10. The event will
determine the 2007 U.S. World Team in all three styles. Tickets
can be purchased in three ways, at an All-Event price, a
single-day All-Session price or a Single Session price.

WRESTLING IN TEMPORARY POSITION – Three time World champion and
Olympian Lee Kemp has joined USA Wrestling in a temporary
position, working in coaches education and freestyle coaching.
Kemp will work on a number of projects with the national staff.

OHIO – USA Wrestling has announced that
the
ASICS
University and FILA Cadet
Nationals for men will be held at the
Univ. of
Akron in
Akron,
Ohio, April 20-22. This major
age-group event will feature the top college-age and high school
wrestlers in the nation, competing in freestyle and Greco-Roman.

FALL COACHES SEMINAR A MAJOR SUCCESS – Over 40 coaches from 19
states came to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in
Colorado
Springs
to participate in the USA Wrestling Fall Coaches Seminar. Top
clinicians including National Coaches provided high level
instruction.

HENSON AND
MIRANDA RECEIVE MULTIPLE MEDAL FUNDING – 2006 World bronze
medalists Sammie Henson and Patricia Miranda received payments
from a special fund from private donors coordinated by USA
Wrestling. Both are past Olympic medalists and earned these
additional funds by winning another medal this year.

FORMAT CHANGES FOR WORLD TEAM TRIALS AND NATIONALS SET – USA
Wrestling has announced procedural changes for the 2007 U.S.
World Team Trials as well as the 2007 U.S. Nationals. The
achievements necessary for U.S. Nationals champions in! men’s
freestyle to advance to the finals of the World Team Tr! ials
has been expanded.

SCHEDULE FOR
ELITE AGE-GROUP CAMPS FOR 2007 SET – USA Wrestling has set the
schedule for the 2007 Big Brother/Future Freestyle Camps, as
well as the FILA Junior Camp and World Team Trials, as well as
the 2012 Junior Olympic Training Camp. Athletes must place at
USA Wrestling age-group national events to earn invitations to
these training opportunities.

CHALLENGE SERIES STANDINGS UPDATED ONLINE – There is a new and
effective online program where young athletes who are competing
in USA Wrestling’s Ultimate Challenge Series can update their
results and follow the standings in the quest for the Dominator
Belts in all four age divisions.

LEGENDS FUND PROGRAM LAUNCHED FOR 2007 – The National Wrestling
Hall of Fame & Museum and USA Wrestling have kicked off the 2007
Legends Fund, for those interested in contributing to both
organizations. Funds will support the operational expenses of
the two groups equally, unless the money is earmarked by the
donor for a specific purpose.

JUNIOR AND BANTAM DIVISIONS ADDED TO FOLKSTYLE NATIONALS – Two
more age divisions, Juniors (high school age) and Bantams (age
7-8), have been added to the 2007 USA Wrestling Folkstyle
Nationals, set for Cedar Falls, Iowa, March 30 – April 1.

WORLD TRIALS AWARDED TO LAS VEGAS – USA Wrestling has awarded
the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling and the 2007
U.S. World Team Trials to Las Vegas, Nev. USA Wrestling will
partner with Las Vegas Events to promote and present these two
major Olympic level events which determine the U.S. teams each
year.
