Beat the Streets Girls Wrestling Tournament, Sunday, March 4, 2012
Event Description:On March 3rd, Olympian Marcie Van Dusen will demonstrate technique and run a practice open to middle school and high school boys and girls. Marcie, a 3x time National Champion and 2008 Olympian is the Head Coach of Womens’ Wrestling at Menlo College in Atherton, CA.
A College Fair will follow the Clinic on March 3rd, showcasing colleges/universities that offer Women’s Wrestling as a varsity sport. Participating schools include Menlo College, Springfield Technical Community College, West Chester University, Missouri Valley College, Lindenwood University and Lock Haven University. Light snacks will be served for Clinic participants and their parents.
Winners of the tournament from Beat the Streets Wrestling programs are eligible to earn a subsidized flight to the Body Bar National Tournament in Lakeland, FL on May 11 – 14. Winners from non-Beat the Streets programs are invited to travel with the Beat the Streets team at a discounted rate for flights, hotels, and transportation.[1]

Where: Clinic, College Fair, and Tournament will be held at the Wingate Educational Campus, 600 Kingston Ave., Brooklyn New York.
When: The Clinic and College Fair will be held Saturday, March 3rd, 2011. The Tournament will be held Sunday, March 4th. Schedules for both events are included below.
Cost:
- The Clinic and College Fair are free for wrestlers with valid USAW cards.
- Registration for the Tournament is $15 per athlete for entries received before March 3rd and is $35 per athlete at the door on March 3rd.
- No registrations will be accepted after walk in registration closes on March 3rd.
- No Tournament entries will be allowed without a valid USAW card.
- Tournament Entry fee is WAIVED for winners of the 2012 Mayor’s Cup Girls Tournament.
Clinic is Open To: High School, Middle School, and Elementary School male and female wrestlers
College Fair is Open To: Male and Female wrestlers interested in colleges/universities, and their parents
Tournament is Open To: High School, Middle School, Elementary School and College-aged female wrestlers.
Coaches are also welcomed at all events

[1] Winners of the Beat the Streets Girls Tournament from Beat the Streets Programs will be given priority for 10 subsidized flights, subject to funding, to the Body Bar National Tournament in Lakeland, FL, May 11-14. In order to earn her flight, the winner of each weight class from a BTS program must attend at least 90% of practices open to her leading up to the event. There is a strictly enforced policy of continued participation in the sport up to the time of the tournament. If the athlete stops going to practice or starts skipping practice, her ticket will be rescinded and given to the next highest placing BTS girl. Additional charges for hotel, meal money, and entry fee may apply.
Winners of the BTS Girls Tournament from non-BTS programs are eligible to travel with the BTS team at a discounted group rate with the submission of a non-refundable deposit due by March 30th and a signed permission slip.
